Mukkarram Ali brings over a decade of senior financial leadership to Merit’s clients. He mainly oversees our audit work and the outsourced finance function service, bringing the discipline of a group financial controller to businesses that want senior eyes on their numbers without the cost of an in-house team.
Qualifications and memberships
Mukkarram is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA). He refined his expertise at Deloitte, one of the Big Four accounting firms, and at other respected audit and accounting practices in London. Before joining Merit he served as Group Financial Controller for CIPL Group, the largest multi-unit industrial developer and asset manager in the UK.

Mukkarram leads statutory and voluntary audits across the firm, bringing Big Four training and hands-on industry experience to every engagement. Audits led by Mukkarram are commercially focused: alongside the audit opinion, clients receive observations on controls, margins and tax positions that they can act on.
He also heads our complete finance function service, through which growing businesses hand their bookkeeping, management reporting and financial oversight to Merit and receive controller-level review every month. Having sat inside a major group as its financial controller, he knows what good reporting looks like from the owner’s side of the table.
